Lewis was unquestionably still one of the best heavyweights, with a record of 5-2 in his previous seven bouts; but, he had suffered defeat in Houston twice in the preceding year.On Saturday, things did not go much better for Lewis, and the seemingly short halt that the referee called did not help matters.

It goes without saying that the throng in Dallas did not provide a warm welcome to Pavlovich from Russia. In the meanwhile, Lewis was given a hero's welcome; nevertheless, in an early exchange, Pavlovich prevailed against Lewis. Lewis was stunned by a right hand behind the ear, followed by a left hand. Pavlovich continued to pursue, and he was able to land a couple more right hands.

After falling to his knees, Lewis instantly rose back up, only to be greeted by referee Dan Miragliotta, who had already signalled for the bout to be stopped.Fans in the arena quickly expressed their disapproval, and Lewis promptly objected, but it was clear that neither of them was going to succeed in getting their points through.

Despite this, Pavlovich was unable to be heard above the din of the crowd during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan."What are your thoughts about that boxing?""I performed my job, and I'm very satisfied with my performance," he said, much to the dismay of the supporters of Texas. "I'm extremely delighted with my performance."

The victory will very definitely be upheld, giving Pavlovich the most significant triumph of his career, despite the fact that the halt in question occurred somewhat quickly.
