Jared Kushner had a health scare at the White House.The 40-year-old son-in-law and former top advisor to former President Donald Trump was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in October2019, according to an excerpt of his memoir.Kushner remembered his diagnosis in Breaking History: A White House Memoir.

"On my way to Texas to visit the Louis Vuitton plant opening, White House physician Sean Conley brought me into the medical cabin on Air Force One," he wrote.""Your Walter Reed findings are in," he added. It appears you have cancer. We need surgery straight now."

Kushner kept the diagnosis quiet. He begged the doctor not to notify anybody, especially his wife or father-in-law, until the next day. Later, he told Ivanka Trump."It was a personal matter," he wrote. "No one in the White House knew, even the president."

Despite keeping the medical results secret, Kushner writes in his memoir that Trump found out about his operation, which needed a "significant chunk" of his thyroid to be removed."The day before surgery, Trump called me to the Oval Office and closed the door," he recounted.

"'Are you concerned about the surgery?' he inquired," Kushner answered.Kushner said the reality star said, "Am president. Know everything. I know you want to be discreet. Like you, I like to keep such things to myself. No worries. Never stress about job. Everything's here."
